About Eating Disorders

Eating disorders are increasingly common and can range from very mild to life-threatening. Eating disorders are serious illnesses - not choices. The disorders have physical, social and psychological symptoms. Although the exact causes are difficult to pinpoint, researchers have identified certain factors that may contribute to the development of an eating disorder.

A basic understanding of eating disorders is the first step to prevention, intervention or recovery.

Anorexia Nervosa - is a fear of weight gain leading to faulty eating patterns, malnutrition, and excessive weight loss. More >>
