What's the average length of stay?
Can you treat patients with medical complications?
How often do patients see a therapist one-on-one?
How often do the patients see a psychiatrist?
Do you have any sort of exercise program?
Do you offer family therapy?
How much time do partial-care patients spend at the facility?

What's the average length of stay? That depends on the unique needs of each person. Some patients stay four to six weeks; others, for several months. After completing our program, patients have the opportunity to enter our group home, where everyone is either in school, working or volunteering in the community. Upon discharge from either our program or group home, each patient gets help in arranging her outpatient team in her hometown.

Can you treat patients with medical complications? Yes. Laureate is the psychiatric hospital of the Saint Francis Health System, and has direct access to any medical specialty practitioner or units within the system. We are not able to do intravenous feedings or re-hydrating on our campus. For that level of care, a patient would be temporarily transferred to the main hospital.

How often do patients see a therapist one-on-one? Twice a week. In addition, their individual therapist is present in groups and at meals, an additional 20 hours per week.

How often do the patients see a psychiatrist? Once a day for patients in the acute care level; three times a week for patients in residential and partial care.

Do you have any sort of exercise program? Yes, once our patients are medically stable and in their weight range. The prescribed exercise plan may include an exercise group twice a week, and walks/jogs up to three times a week.

Do you offer family therapy? Yes. Routine family contact and family therapy is a critical element of our program. in addition, we host a monthly Family Week, a three-day intensive program for family members.

How much time do partial-care patients spend at the facility? Our partial patients attend the full-day clinical program, as do our acute and residential patients. Women in partial care are able to leave campus for outings and "practice trips" home. We also offer half-day partial for women who will be transitioning to the group home. Half-day partial care patients do not eat meals or snacks at Laureate.
